Sildenafil citrate is contraindicated during pregnancy due to the potential for life-threatening pulmonary embolism, especially in women who are taking NSAIDs. The potential for life-threatening pulmonary embolism should therefore be reported to the British Thoracic Society (BTS).

It's possible to reduce sildenafil dosage in the usual way by gradually increasing the dosage.
